20th Century to star in a Broadway musical

It was announced, that the members of V6's subunit, 20th Century (Sakamoto Masayuki, Nagano Hiroshi, Inohara Yoshihiko), are going to be starring in the Broadway musical's "ON THE TOWN", that will run between September and October. This is the first time in 10 years that the three of them are going to be in a musical together. The last time they did a butai together was in "SAY YOU KIDS".

"On the Town" was first produced on Broadway in 1944, with music by Leonard Bernstein. In 1949 this musical was adapted into a film, though almost all songs were replaced with Hollywood-written substitutes. It tells the story of three American sailors, who recieved permission to disembark in New York City for 24 hours during the wartime. The three falls in love with one woman and an entchanted romatic comed unfolds. Sakamoto will play the romanticist Gabey, Nagano the honest Chip and Inohara the joker Ozzie.

"ON THE TOWN" will be played in 2 theaters. It will run in Aoyama Theater (Tokyo) from September 28 until October 14. Then it will be shown for 2 days in Orix Theater (Osaka) on October 18-19.
