Nikkei Entertainment's Talent Power Ranking 2014

Arashi has been in the top 3 of this ranking for 5 years. The last time they topped this ranking was in 2012, the year after that they placed second. Personally, Sakurai Sho also kept his position  from last year, while Matsumoto Jun was able to climb up from the 25th to the 16th. The other members of Arashi also made it into the top 100.


Topping the Power Talent Ranking TOP 100 is national female skater Asada Mao. She is followed by Arashi and male skater Hanyu Yuzuru. The second Johnny's group to rank in the chart is SMAP. SMAP actually won over Arashi in degree of recognition (both face and name), but lost in degree of interests (you want to see, watch, know more of the talent).

The Soaring Ranking ranks the talents by how much their score rose compared to last year. This ranking is topped by skater Hanyu Yuzuru, whose score increased by 31.1%. In the top 30 soaring ranking, the only talents from Johnny & Associates are Okada Junichi and Kazama Shunsuke.

Because of the results of the Soaring Ranking, Okada and Kazama are on the top of the Soaring Johnny's Ranking. The scores of the Busaiku members (subunit from Kis-My-Ft2) also raised quite well compared to last year, especially Nikaido Takashi and Miyata Toshiya's scores, who placed 3rd and 4th.

The Generations Ranking seperates the ranking based on women's and men's choice. Based on the women's choice, Arashi ranked first. They are especially favorited by those in their 20s and 40s, while the teenagers are more interested in Ohno Satoshi over Arashi. Besides Arashi, SMAP, Okada Junichi and Ikuta Toma also made it into the top 20.

No Johnny's talent ranked in the Men's Choice. Only in the teenagers section Arashi ranked 1st and Ohno Satoshi ranked 5th. But none of them made it into the overall ranking.

In the Musician Ranking, Arashi and SMAP are also at the top 3. Beside them, TOKIO, Kanjani8, KinKi Kids, and Tackey & Tsubasa also made it into the top 30.

In the Actor Ranking Abe Hiroshi and Sakai Masato ranked 1st and 2nd respectively. After that each of the Arashi member ranks one behind the other. Okada Junichi jumped from the 41st position to follow Arashi in the 8th position. All members of SMAP also made it into the top 35, with Katori Shingo leading. Kimura Takuya dropped from the 12th to the 27th. Beside Arashi and SMAP the members of TOKIO are also in the ranking.
