Nakajima Yuto & Takaki Yuya to play water pop

It has been announced, that Hey! Say! JUMP's Nakajima Yuto is going to be starring in Fuji TV's upcoming late night drama, titled: "Suikyuu Yankees (水球ヤンキース)" (engl. Water Polo Yankees). Fellow member Takaki Yuya will also be participating in this Saturdays drama, that will start airing in July.

"Suikyuu Yankees" will be a youth drama featuring water polo, which will be a first in Japanese drama history. Nakajima Yuto will be taking the role of Inaba Naoya, a student who sees yankees as heroes with chivalrous spirit after reading Japanese yankee mangas overseas. Because he had always wanted to become a yankee, he decided to transfer to Japan for his last high school year. However, due to some unexpected turn of events, Inaba ends-up aiming to be the top in water polo.

Hey! Say! JUMP's Takaki Yuya is also going to act in this drama. He will play the captain of a water polo team from a rival school. Another co-star will be Yamazaki Kento, who is currently also co-starring with Nakajima in "Yowakutemo Katemasu". He will play the captain of Inaba's team, who had stopped playing water polo due to some reasons.

The games and underwater combat scenes will be the highlight of this drama, so Nakajima and the others strive to be physically fit. They are doing strength training and receiving intensive training from an active water polo player before starting filming this June.

This will be Nakajima's first stand-alone lead role, so he isn't used to it yet. His senior and the lead role in "Yowakutemo Katemasu" said to him, that he will be alright in his own.

"Suikyuu Yankees" will air Saturdays at 23:10 (JST) on Fuji TV starting July.
