More cast added to Ohno Satoshi's drama Shinigami-kun + Storyline for the first episode revealed


It was announced that Kiritani Mirei, Suda Masaki and Matsushige Yutaka will join the casts of  Ohno Satoshi's upcoming drama.

On February 15, it was announced that Arashi's Ohno Satoshi would star in TV Asahi's upcoming late-night drama Shinigami-kun. This drama is adapted from a manga with the same title, written by Endo Koichi (Tsuide ni Tonchinkan). The manga was published from 1983 until 1990 in Gekkan Shounen Jump by Shueisha. Later it was released into 13 volumes of Tankobon.

Ohno will play a rookie reaper called Shinigami-kun (also known as Reaper No.413) whose job is to announce death to expected people, and to send their souls to the afterlife. His real name and other details are not revealed. He always appears in black suit and bow tie with his signature phrase "Congratulations, I'm here to take you to the next world!" As he is a rookie, he tends to break the rules of his world and make human-like decisions, causing him to get reprehended by the manager of the reapers called Chief (played by Matsushige Yutaka).


Kiritani Mirei's role is a watcher who appears as a crow/raven in the human world. She tends to recklessly denounce Shinigami-kun's job performance. Suda Masaki on the other hand, will play a devil, who is a rival of Shinigami-kun.

This drama will be directed by Nakata Hideo (RingKuroyuri Danchi), while the script will be written by Hashimoto Hiroshi (Jukunen Rikon, Unmei no Hito).

Guest stars for the first episode was also revealed. These guests include Ohara Sakurako, Takada Riho and Watanabe Shu. In the first episode Kobayashi Mami (Takada Riho), a high shool student, attempts to jump off the rooftop of a hispital because her face recently got burned in a fire. At that time, Shinigami-kun appears and tells her that she cant's die yet. Rior to the accident, Mami was popular with boys because of her beautiful appearance. Her friend, Oonish Fukuko (Ohara Sakurako), was actually who made Mami look even better because of her ordinary look. When Fukuko tries to comfort Mami, Shinigami-kun appears in front of her and tells her, that she has 3 days to live.

The drama will air every Friday at 23:15 starting April 18.
