SMAP amazed by A.B.C-Z' performance in Music Station
March 21, SMAP and A.B.C-Z performed in Music Station's 3 Hours Spring Special.
An important theme for this kind of season is graduation. So during the show, Music Station showed pictures of the guests during their graduation. A picture of A.B.C-Z' Kawai Fumito during his middle school graduation at age 15 was shown. He commented, that it was the time, when he really admired SMAP's Kimura Takuya. He also talked about how he gets to do impersonations of Kimura during their own concerts. This results to Kawai doing a dance imitation of Kimura in front of the real person for the first time.
A.B.C-Z was the first artist to perform in this episode. After Kawai's impersonation, they sang "5 Rings", a song from the regular edition of their newly released album, "from ABC to Z". For this song they did a really cool acrobatic dance routine, that even made the members of SMAP amazed.
Later Music Station showed pictures of the members of SMAP in grade school, while they talked about their childhood dream. Katori Shingo's dream was to become a salesman but then he became a member of SMAP. While a picture of Kusanagi Tsuyoshi was shown, he talked about his dream of becoming a gymnastic teacher. He commented, that watching A.B.C-Z' performance made him realized, that the level of their abilities are different. A.B.C-Z' Tsukada Ryoichi reacted to this and said that his dream was to win a gold medal in the olymics. Sadly, Kawai was too late in reminding him to use the mic when speaking. A picture of young Nakai Masahiro was shown fully equipped with glove and bat as he talked about his dream to play in the Koshien and becoming a pro baseball player.
For their performance SMAP did a medley of 3 songs. They began with "Tabidachi no Hi ni". For this song they were backed-up by a choir consisting of female students. The second song was "Yes we are", a slow paced song that is used as theme song for TBS' N Star. And lastly they performed "Koko Kara", which will be released together with "Yes we are" on April 9.
Music Station also asked 10.000 people, ranging from 10-60 years old, to request their favorite graduation song. Johnny's songs in this ranking are:
12. "Sakura Sake" - Arashi (2005)
15. "Sekai ni Hitotsu Dake no Hana" - SMAP (2003)
58. "Hana Uta" - TOKIO (2002)
