Friday July 7, it was announced, that Johnny's actor Ikuta Toma and Hey! Say! JUMP's Yamada Ryosuke have been casted for the upcoming movie, "GRASS HOPPER". This movie is an adaption of Isaka Kotaro's popular novel with the same title, which was published in July 2004 by Kadokawa Shoten Co.

Ikuta Toma, who has been choosen to play the lead role for this movie, will once again work together with director Takimoto Tomoyuki, who also directed his previous hit movie "Nou Otoko". Meanwhile, for Yamada, who had served as voice actor for the movie "The Smurfs", this will be his first time doing a live-action movie. Also co-starring in the movie will be internationally-recognized actor Asano Tadanobu.

The story is about Suzuki (Ikuta), a middle school teacher who quits his job in order to infiltrate an underworld organization and take revenge on the person who murdered his girlfriend. Asano will play the role of Kujira (lit. "whale"), a contract killer who specializes in observing his targets, gaining insight into their state of mind and eventually manipulating them into committing suicide. Yamada's character, Semi (lit. "cicada") is a contract killer who uses knives to eliminate his target.

Ikuta expresses his excitement working together with Asano for the first time. "Asano-san is a senior, who is activ in the country and abroad. I want to learn a lot from him." Regarding Yamada he commented, that in this movie Yamada's cute face will change, becoming a Yamada Ryosuke nobody has seen before.

Filming for this movie will begin on July 7 and it is planned to be released nation-wide in fall 2015.
