June 19, during the airing of Fuji TV's "VS Arashi", it was announced that on July 10 they will air a 2 hour special of this program. As guest will be Kanjani8, who are in the same generation as Arashi.
Many of those 2 groups fans have hoped for this. It is always interesting and funny seing these groups interacting with each other. As they spent their Junior days together, many stories from their past usually are being revealed. Arashi debuted in 1999, meanwhile the Kansai group, Kanjani8, had their debut 5 years later. This year Kanjani8 celebrates their 10th anniversary, while Arashi celebrates their 15th anniversary.
Previously some members of Kanjani8 had guested on "VS Arashi". Nishikido Ryo, Maruyama Ryuhei and Yokoyama You had come one by one in relation to their dramas. Many fans had been hoping tobe able see Kanjani8 as a group on "VS Arashi", especially since Kanjani8 has been guest on Arashi's other TV programs.
Kanjani8 had came to "Arashi no Shiyagare" 2 times, revealing stories related to Arashi. In addition, during the "24 Hours Television" in 2013, there was a special "Arashi ni Shiyagare" section, where these 2 groups battled each other in games like rope climbing, shooting a basketball while doing upside down sit-ups and catching a volleyball hit by a national player. Kanjani8 aslo had come to "Himitsu no Arashi-chan" to battle against Arashi in the "Mannequin Five" corner. That time they battled in relation to fashion, which group's members's fashion are more liked by the ladies.
Both battles were won by Arashi, so Kanjani8 will surely give their best at "VS Arashi".
