It has been previously announced, that Johnnys' WEST's Fujii Ryusei will star in a late night TBS drama, "Again!!". This drama is a live adaption of a popular manga with the same title, written and illustrated by Mitsuro Kubo, who also wrote "Moteki".
In "Again!!", Fujii will play the role of Imamura Kinichirou, who finally graduates high school. However, because of his delinquent-esque looks, he wasn't able to make any friends during his 3 years in high school. He also regrets not joining tha now-disbanded cheering squad. Due to some turn of events, Imamura finds himself transported back in time to his entrance ceremony 3 years ago. So Imamura tries to redo his life by joining the cheering squad.
This is Fujii's first time playing a lead role in a drama. He previously took a suporting role in Fuji TV's drama "Miss Pilot", he also made a guest appearance in the late night drama "SHARK". For this upcoming drama, he will be joined by Hayami Akari, who acts as Yoshiko Usami, the captain of the cheerleading squad.
Now the airing time has been decided. "Again!!" will air Sundays 24:50-25:20 on MBS starting July 20 an Tuesdays 25:11-25:41 on TBS starting July 22. Up until now a total of 10 episodes are planned.
