Takaki Yuya reveals his story of joining Johnny & Associates

In the magazine "Myojo" (May 2014 edition) Hey! Say! JUMP's Takaki Yuya revealed his relationship with family members. He has 2 elder sister and 1 younger brother. When he was little, he wore his sisters clothes. He admited that he really looks like his sister. While he was really scared with his sister, he got along well with his younger brother. Ofcourse they did get into fights, like when whatching TV, making the parents become mad at them.

He also revealed, that their parents were really strict about manners. Watching TV while having meals wasn't allowed and no one may start eating before everyone of the family got together. He said, that his sisters had very good manners, but he himself was in a rebellious state. That's why he got scoleded everyday. When he made his brother laugh while they were being scolded, their parents got even more angry.

He used to do kendo and basketball and wanted to be a nursery teacher. Takaki was then asked about how he became a Johnny's. He said that one day his mother was invited to watch a KinKi Kids concert, but she didn't have interests in it so she sent Takaki to watch it. Later at the concert, he was impressed by Domoto Koichi and became a fan of his. Wanting to be as cool as him and to be surrounded by girls, screaming for him, he decided to join Johnny's.

It only took him 1 week to get a reply from the talent agency, but he wasn's too happy about it, because he didn't want to go to an aufdition. He was afraid of singing in front of others, so when they were asked 'Who wants to sing?' during the audition, Takaki didn't raise his hand while the other kids did. After the audition, he was called in together with his parents, which made it like a parent-teacher-child meeting. At that time Yamashita Tomohisa passed them and they got excited. Then Johnny Kitagawa called their home. His sister picked the phone and screamed at him "Yuu! What did you again?!" He then had a talk with Johnny-san and got invited to a Tackey & Tsubasa concert.

After becoming a Johnny's Jr. he took part in Domoto Koichi's "Endless Shock" and became a member of J.J.Express. Because the members always changed he was afraid that he might be the next one, and so he got angry when he couldn't manage to do something and kept thinking, he didn't give his best. Arioka Daiki was one of those who helped him during those times. They were close even before becoming members of J.J.Express. After realizing that to debut isn't an easy way, he had a thought of quitting when he didn't debut before his graduation came around.

While he starred in his debut drama "Gokusen", he was also a special supporter for the volley ball team, so during filming break he moved to the volley ball venue. After finishing work over there he had to run back to the filming location and continue shooting. He named those from B.A.D., who were shooting together with him, taking care of him and helping him.

Because of the drama work, his connection with Hey! Say! JUMP members got loose. So as he filmed for the drama and worked with JUMP, he got overwhelmed with many self-hatred emotions. He even had the though of quitting Johnny's after "Gokusen". He didn't tell the members about it, he only told his family and some private friends. During those time, Yabu Kota would join him, when he went out with the casts from "Gokusen", despite Takaki was the only person he knew and Yaotome Hikaru brought him medicine and vitamin pills. He than thought about the fans and the members and couldn't bring himself to quit. Kiriyama Akito and Nakama Junta also helped him in making the decision not to quit.
