Ohkura Tadayoshi to star in upcoming movie Clover
It is confirmed that the long running manga, CLOVER, by Chiya Toriko will be adapted into live-action. The manga was first serialized in 3 magazines (Bouquet, Cookie, Chorus) by Shueisha. It was than published into 24 volumes of Tankobon and more than 8,6 million copies were sold. The story is about Suzuki Saya, an office lady who can't forget her first love and works each day getting reprimanded by her accomplished supervisor, Tsuge Susumu. Though she is not interested in having any romatic relationship, Tsuge suddenly confesses love to her and thus their relationship started. A remake of the manga with different protagonists is serialized in Shueisha's Cocohana since June 2012 under the title Clover trèfle.
It was also confirmed, that Takei Emi will be playing the role of Suzuki Saya, while Ohkura Tadayoshi will be playing the tsundere Do-S, Tsugu Susumu. Before this, Ohkura and Takei had already worked together in the late-night mystery drama Otenki Onee-san, which was aired on TV Asahi from April to June last year. For this film, Takei Emi will be teaming up again with the director Furusawa Takeshi. They previously worked together for her hit movie, Kyou, Koi wo Hajimemasu. The script will be written by Asano Taeko. The filming will take place from April through May and the movie will be released on November 1st this year.
About the movie, Takei commented,"Working together again will be a lot of fun. I want to experience a miraculous love as Saya." Ohkura also said, "I want to do my best for this movie, so it can resonate in all the hearts of our generation."
