April 10 Nippon Television's ZIP! aired their interview with the new Kansai group, Johnnys' WEST. The members told stories about their seniors, that are only known to themselves. The seniors include Takizawa Hideaki, Maruyama Ryuhei and Yasuda Shota.
During the interview they wore clothes in their respective image colors. They introduced themselves as Johnnys' WEST. They are said to be the first group to make their debut with all members coming from the Kansai region after Kanjani8 10 years ago.introduction about their upcoming debut single "Eejanaika", they were asked to pick a card with questions from a table. Kamiyama Tomohiro picked a card and they were asked reveal their seniors' real face.
Kiriyama Akito went a head and revealed that Takizawa hideaki is actually a boke-type. He told a story when Takizawa suddenly asked him, 'There is something different about me, right?'. Kiriyama then guessed, 'Did you get sunburned?', 'Did you cut your hair?'. But his guesses were all wrong and Takizawa then revealed, that he wore contact lenses. Kiriyama complained, how he was supposed to know that.
Shigeoka Daiki revealed that he went to an onsen together with Maruyama Ryuhei and Yasuda Shota from Kanjani8. It just happened, that they could see the full moon, and Maruyama suddenly started to read a haiku (a very short form of Japanese poetry). 'The full moon is very beautiful, I'm also Maru (round)'. While Shigeoka didn't know what to say, Yasuda suddenly praised, 'Great, Maru! Great, Maru!'.
Shigeoka picked another card, asking them to do a one-liner, but because he picked the card, he was the one to do it. Because he is actually weak in doing one-liners, he just did some weird movement and said, 'What do you think I'm doing? I don't know either.'
Johnnys' WEST's debut single "Eejanaika" will be released on April 23.
