Domoto Tsuyoshi to act in Platonic
It was announced that KinKi Kids' Domoto Tsuyoshi is going to star in NHK's new Sunday-drama together with Nakayama Miho. The drama, titled "Platonic (プラトニック)", will start airing on May 25 at 22:00.
It tells the story of a mother in her 40's with a daughter, who is suffering from a heart disease. While looking for a treatment for her child, a mysterious man appeared before her, saying "I want to save lives". There will be love interests between them, where she will struggle between her responsibilities as a mother and as a woman in love.
Other casts for this drama include Koizumi Kotaro, Nagano Mei, Bito Isao, Omi Toshinori, Yoshida Eisaku and Kaga Mariko. This drama will be written by Nojima Shinji, who also wrote "Ningen Shikaku", Domoto Tsuyoshi's first drama back in 1994. This will be the first time in 20 years that they will work together again.
Other works by Nojima Shinji, which are starred by talents from Johnny & Associates include "49" (2013, Sato Shori), "Risou no Musuko" (2012, Yamada Ryosuke), "Bara no nai Hanaya" (2008, Katori Shingo), "Pride" (2004, Kimura Takuya), "Strawberry on the Shortcake" (2001, Takizawa Hideaki) and "Food Fight" (2000, Kusanagi Tsuyoshi).
